"We are so thankful for Keiki and Macaulay's teaching, leadership and nurturing of our child this past year and a half! He is able to feel free in nature twice a week with these two caring, talented and wise teachers looking after him. He is free to climb trees, play games, sing songs, create art, encounter creatures and plants, learn about them, and care for and love Mamma Gaia'. I'm especially grateful that with their loving support, he is learning about conflict resolution with his friends Ian the forest. I highly recommend Wise Roots Collective to others who desire their child to cultivate resilience, have fun, grow in interpersonal skills and deepen their reverence for the beauty and bounty of Mother Earth!"

"My daughter has blossomed in such a beautiful way since being a part of this community. Her love of nature and the ways that she is able to connect to it inspire me and our entire family. I feel total trust in her teachers and am so grateful for her love and care of all of the kids. She is creative fun and so patient. The small group size is ideal for building intimacy and community amongst the kids. Thank you for being here for my daughter and for being a home away from home for us!"

"Wise roots has been absolutely fantastic for my boys. Theyre outside in the forest all day, with waldorf-inspired learning. The teachers know how to let kids be kids, while gently guiding them and introducing new things to them. They have so much freedom to explore and come home everyday with leaves and sticks in their hair and arts/crafts they made, beaming and excited to tell me about their day.
Teachers dont just teach kids, they nurture souls, and I definitely feel that way about Macaulay and Keiki. Highly recommend!!"

"Keiki and Macaulay have created such a deeply enriching space for children—a true sanctuary where learning, nature, and community are beautifully woven together. They offer far more than academics; it nurtures the whole child in a way that feels rare and incredibly needed in today’s world.
Children are encouraged to connect with the natural world, explore their creativity, and grow at their own pace. There’s a grounded, heart-centered rhythm to their days that fosters confidence, curiosity, and resilience. The environment they cultivate empowers kids to trust themselves, express freely, and feel seen and safe—something every child deserves.
What makes this group especially unique is their commitment to honoring alternative values, all within a respectful and inclusive community. Families seeking a holistic, values-aligned approach to education will find a true home here.
Keiki and Macaulay lead with integrity, deep care, and a genuine love for children. We feel so grateful to be part of this intentional, thriving community."

"If you love your child enough to do your own research, Wise Roots may be the place for you. A place where wisdom is having faith in freedom beyond bells, desks, or screens. With Macaulay and Keiki, creativity is nourished under redwood trees, confidence grows in the singing voices of boys and girls, and little hands make big things happen. Going against the grain can be scary, but if raising just another brick in the wall isn't an option for your family then this is the community for you. Is is for our family. Look forward to seeing you there!"

“My kids truly thrive in an outdoor setting. As energetic boys, they need space to move, explore, and play–and forest school has been the perfect outlet for that. It brings me so much joy to watch them get messy in the dirt, make mud pies, and explore the forest freely. It’s the kind of childhood experience I wish I had growing up.
What I love most is the strong bond the teachers have formed with my children out in nature. It means a lot to me that they’re not only learning but also building a deep respect for Mother Nature from such a young age.”
